Senior AI Engineer - Bengaluru

Founding Senior AI Engineer responsible for building and scaling the intelligence layer of Figr's AI product agent, focusing on context, retrieval, agent orchestration, performance, and user experience.

Requirements

• 4+ years of software engineering experience with strong Python expertise

• Must have built and deployed AI agents in production for real users

• Experience operating as an early or founding engineer in a startup is a strong plus

• Strong experience with LangGraph, LangChain, agent orchestration, tool calling, and evaluation frameworks

• Hands-on experience building production-grade RAG and retrieval systems

• Deep understanding of context engineering, prompt engineering, and agent architecture

• Strong knowledge of FastAPI, asynchronous programming, and scalable backend systems

• Experience optimizing AI systems for cost, latency, reliability, and quality

• Strong understanding of model routing, caching, token optimization, and AI infrastructure

• Ability to evaluate and improve AI user experiences

• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced startup environment with high ownership

Responsibilities

• Join the founding team and help shape the AI strategy, architecture, and technical roadmap

• Own the AI layer end-to-end across the product

• Build systems that provide deep product context to AI agents

• Design and improve retrieval, context, memory, and reasoning pipelines

• Optimize model performance, latency, reliability, and cost

• Build and improve evaluation frameworks for subjective AI workflows

• Enhance the overall AI user experience, including streaming and failure handling

• Monitor production AI systems and continuously improve outcomes

• Collaborate directly with the CTO on product and technical decisions

• Stay updated with the latest AI advancements and rapidly adopt relevant innovations

• Drive AI architecture decisions that create long-term product differentiation
