Requirements

• 3–5 years of software engineering experience with strong frontend and web fundamentals.

• Strong hands-on experience with Next.js, React, TypeScript and JavaScript.

• Strong understanding of browser fundamentals, rendering, networking, caching and web performance.

• Practical experience with Core Web Vitals including LCP, INP, CLS and TTFB.

• Experience with SSR, SSG, CSR, hydration and modern Next.js rendering and caching patterns.

• Experience using RUM, browser profiling, Lighthouse and observability tools.

• Understanding of CDNs, cloud, caching, deployments, APIs and server-side or edge execution.

• Ability to reason about performance, scalability, maintainability, reliability and cost.

• Strong engineering judgement with a preference for simple, maintainable solutions.

• Ability to use AI effectively for coding, debugging, profiling, testing and exploration while owning engineering decisions.

Responsibilities

• Build and evolve web applications using Next.js, TypeScript and JavaScript.

• Own and continuously improve web performance and Core Web Vitals.

• Diagnose performance bottlenecks using profiling, Lighthouse, RUM and observability tools.

• Understand and optimise the complete request journey from CDN and caching to server rendering, APIs, browser execution and user experience.

• Build reusable frontend foundations and patterns that scale across products and teams.

• Evaluate technical trade-offs using first-principles thinking.

• Reduce unnecessary dependencies, JavaScript, expensive rendering and avoidable complexity.

• Collaborate with backend, infrastructure, design and product teams when required.

• Ship, measure, learn and continuously improve the product experience.

• Use AI as an engineering tool while validating its output and maintaining ownership of technical decisions.
