Senior Data Engineer role responsible for building and owning scalable, secure data pipelines and trusted datasets that power analytics, modelling, and leadership decisions.

Requirements

• 5+ years of hands-on Data Engineering experience

• Strong experience with AWS services such as S3, IAM, Glue, EMR/EKS/ECS, Lambda, Redshift, CloudWatch

• Advanced proficiency in Python and SQL

• Experience with Airflow and distributed systems like Hive, Presto, or Trino

• Strong understanding of data lake and warehouse architectures such as Delta Lake, Snowflake, BigQuery, or Redshift

• Strong knowledge of ETL/ELT, data modelling, and orchestration patterns

• Exposure to streaming systems like Kafka, Kinesis, Spark Streaming, or Flink

• Experience with CI/CD, Docker, and Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform

• Strong ownership mindset and ability to manage systems end-to-end

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate production-grade data pipelines for analytics, modelling, dashboards, and reporting

• Integrate and standardize data from multiple sources with consistent identifiers

• Create and maintain trusted datasets and data marts for repeated use

• Ensure reliability through monitoring, SLAs, and pipeline performance tuning

• Own and improve AWS-based data architecture with focus on security, scalability, and cost optimization

• Implement data governance, access controls, lineage, and auditability

• Set engineering standards through code reviews, testing, documentation, and runbooks

• Mentor junior data engineers and support team growth

• Partner with analysts and stakeholders to define consistent metrics and datasets
