Senior Data Engineer (Azure) - Pune

A fast-growing climate-tech startup seeks a Senior Data Engineer to design and build scalable data pipelines and infrastructure that fuel AI and analytics—remote for 6 months, then based in Pune.

Requirements
• Minimum 3 years of data engineering experience (5+ preferred)
• Proficiency in Python, SQL, Git; strong ETL best practice knowledge
• Experience with Airflow, Docker, PostgreSQL, GitHub Actions CI/CD
• Familiarity with Azure Blob Storage, ADLS2, and Azure Synapse
• Strong API integration, data modeling, and orchestration expertise
• Excellent communicator with a team‑first mindset
• Solid problem-solving ability and ownership attitude
• Bonus (nice to have): REST API design, data warehousing/query optimization, DevOps/monitoring/performance tuning

Responsibilities
• Develop and maintain robust ETL pipelines ingesting and transforming diverse data sources
• Automate workflows via Airflow and CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions
• Enhance PostgreSQL database performance and scalability
• Integrate and utilize Azure cloud infrastructure components (Blob, ADLS2, Synapse)
• Collaborate with data scientists and product engineers to ensure clean, reliable data across the platform

Job Details
Location: Remote India (6‑month remote period), transitioning to Pune office thereafter
Salary: ₹ 25 LPA
