Senior Backend Engineer (Python)

Grid-Sentry is looking for a Senior Backend Engineer (Python) to lead the design and development of backend modules for our GRIDsentry suite of products. The role involves building robust APIs, ensuring seamless backend-to-frontend integration, and enabling efficient deployments using Docker for on-premise and cloud environments.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field

• 6+ years of hands-on experience in backend web development

• Proficiency in Python, Django, and FastAPI

• Expertise in database design with MySQL or PostgreSQL

• Strong experience with Docker for containerized application deployment

• Familiarity with shell scripting for on-premise deployments

• Experience with Redis and queuing systems

• Strong understanding of RESTful APIs and third-party API integration

• Solid understanding of version control systems (Git) and CI/CD pipelines

• Familiarity with Secure Software Development Life Cycle (SSDLC) is a plus

Responsibilities

• Lead the development of backend modules from conceptualization to deployment

• Design and implement optimized database schemas for efficient data handling

• Develop robust, scalable, and secure APIs

• Ensure seamless backend integration with front-end components

• Implement Docker-based deployments for on-premise and cloud environments

• Troubleshoot and resolve performance bottlenecks and security vulnerabilities

• Mentor junior developers through code reviews and technical guidance

• Participate in agile processes such as sprint planning and stand-ups

• Maintain the stability and integrity of deployed applications
