The Role

We're hiring a Senior Backend Engineer (Platform Focused) to join our core platform team. You'll design and build the foundational systems that power our product — distributed services, APIs at scale, data pipelines, and platform reliability. This is a fully remote role open to candidates based in India.

What You'll Do

• Design and build scalable, high-performance backend services in Java

• Own platform components — service infrastructure, APIs, internal tooling, and reliability

• Drive architecture decisions for distributed systems and microservices

• Collaborate with product and data teams to build robust integrations

• Improve observability, performance, and resilience of core platform services

• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to engineering best practices

What We're Looking For

• 5+ years of backend engineering experience with Java as your primary language

• Deep understanding of platform and distributed systems engineering

• Strong grasp of microservices, REST/gRPC APIs, and async messaging (Kafka, RabbitMQ, etc.)

• Experience with relational and/or NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, Redis, etc.)

• Solid understanding of system design, scalability, and production reliability

• Currently working at a product-based organisation — we value candidates who've built and scaled real products

• Strong ownership mindset — you take end-to-end responsibility for what you ship

Nice to Have

• Experience with Spring Boot / Micronaut / Quarkus

• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS / GCP / Azure)

• Experience with containerisation (Docker, Kubernetes)

• Background in data platforms, analytics infrastructure, or developer tooling
