Engineering Manager - Mumbai

Requirements
• 10+ years of software engineering experience in product-based organizations

• Currently working as an Engineering Manager and actively managing software engineers

• Minimum 3+ years of people management experience, including:

• Performance reviews and appraisals

• Performance management and PIPs

• Hiring and team building

• Coaching, mentoring, and career development

• Handling difficult people situations when required

• Experience building and scaling engineering teams in fast-paced product environments

• Strong hands-on engineering background in C#, Node.js, Java, or Python - anyone backend langauge

• ReactJS experience is a plus

• Good to have experience with C#

• Language-agnostic mindset with the ability to work across technologies

• Proven track record of owning large-scale product or platform initiatives from planning to delivery

• Experience defining engineering roadmaps, technical strategy, and execution plans

• Strong understanding of system design, APIs, databases, cloud platforms, distributed systems, and scalable architectures

• Ability to balance technical leadership with people leadership responsibilities

• Strong communication, stakeholder management, and cross-functional collaboration skills

• Comfortable working with globally distributed teams

• Experience driving automation, AI, or ML-led initiatives is a plus

• Comfortable working from office 4 days a week

Responsibilities
• Lead and grow a cross-functional engineering team building sports technology products and workflows

• Own team health, performance, hiring, coaching, and career development

• Conduct performance reviews, goal setting, feedback cycles, and performance management processes

• Partner with Product, QA, Design, and business stakeholders to define engineering priorities and roadmaps

• Drive technical architecture, engineering execution, delivery planning, and operational excellence

• Mentor engineers and establish a high-performance engineering culture focused on ownership, quality, and continuous improvement

• Improve analyst training tools and operational workflows for efficiency and accuracy

• Contribute to automation and AI/ML initiatives to scale operations and reduce manual effort

• Own critical technical and business decisions while ensuring alignment with company objectives

• Stay close enough to the technology to guide architecture, unblock teams, and review engineering decisions

• Ensure engineering quality, scalability, reliability, and predictable delivery
