Mave Health is hiring a Senior Backend Engineer to build secure, scalable APIs and systems using Django and FastAPI at an early-stage health-tech startup.

Requirements
• 3+ years experience in backend development
• Strong knowledge of Python, Django, FastAPI, PostgreSQL
• Experience with Redis, Celery, Docker, and cloud platforms (Azure/AWS)
• Experience building secure APIs and integrating with AI/LLM APIs
• Familiar with privacy-focused development (GDPR, HIPAA context)
• Clean, testable coding practices with unit/integration testing
• Good communication and collaborative skills

Nice to have
• Experience with WebRTC or Node.js (Express, Nest.js, etc.)
• Knowledge of Golang or Rust
• Familiarity with HIPAA, GDPR, SOC2 compliance
• Experience with Kubernetes, Terraform, or advanced DevOps tools

Responsibilities
• Design and implement backend systems using Django and FastAPI
• Build and manage APIs, microservices, and database schemas (PostgreSQL)
• Implement Redis caching and Celery for async workflows
• Integrate external APIs including AI/LLM models
• Ensure compliance with privacy standards
• Collaborate with frontend and product teams
• Deploy using Docker across Azure and AWS
